Terms of Service
Last updated Jun 20, 2026
Welcome to Petals. By using the service you agree to these terms. They sit alongside our Privacy Policy. Petals is provided “as is”, and we may update these terms; continued use means you accept the changes.
Who can use Petals
You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum digital-consent age in your country, if higher) and provide accurate account details. You’re responsible for activity under your account; keep your password and second factor secure.
Acceptable use
Don’t use Petals to:
- Post or share content that is illegal, harassing, hateful, threatening, or that incites violence;
- Share sexual content involving minors, or any non-consensual intimate imagery;
- Impersonate others, spam, phish, or distribute malware;
- Infringe copyrights, trademarks, privacy, or publicity rights;
- Scrape, overload, or attempt to break the service or its security.
We may remove content and suspend or disable accounts that violate these terms.
Content you bring in from other sites
Petals lets you gather posts — and, optionally, the visible comments on them — from other networks. When you do this:
- You’re responsible for ensuring you have the right to re-publish what you bring in, and for how it appears on your page.
- Captured comments may include other people’s names, handles, avatars, and words. We display them with attribution back to the source and never use them to build advertising profiles.
- You can hide captured comments per post or site-wide in your settings, and anyone can request removal (below).
Your content & license
You keep ownership of what you post. You grant Petals a non-exclusive license to host and display your content so the service can function (e.g. showing your public posts on your page and in friends’ feeds). Public posts are visible to anyone and to search engines.
Takedown & copyright (DMCA)
If you believe content on Petals infringes your copyright, or includes your personal information or likeness without consent, email abuse@petals.blog with the link and a description of the issue. Signed-in users can also use the “Report this post” link on any post. We review reports and remove content that violates these terms or the law, and may notify the person who posted it.
Termination
You can delete your account at any time from Settings. We may suspend or terminate accounts that break these terms or create risk for others. Some records (e.g. security/audit logs) may be retained as needed for safety and legal compliance.
Disclaimer & liability
Petals is provided without warranties of any kind. To the extent permitted by law, we’re not liable for indirect or consequential damages, or for content posted by users or captured from third-party sites.
