Version 1.10.0

  • Auto-link your new posts (confirm-first): right after you publish on X, Bluesky, Reddit, or Mastodon, a small chip asks “Add this post to Petals?” with Add / Dismiss. Nothing is sent until you click Add — it never auto-publishes, and if it can't be sure which post you just made it shows nothing.
  • Calendar secret-URL assist: on your Google Calendar settings/export page (or a Facebook events page with an export option), the extension surfaces the buried secret iCal/.ics address and offers a one-click “Add this calendar to Petals”.

  • Lights up as you browse: when you visit a site Petals can connect (GitHub, Letterboxd, Goodreads, Chess.com, and more), the toolbar icon blooms and a small chip offers a one-click jump to add that connector. The first time you land on each such site, a system notification points it out.
  • It only ever reacts to the site you're already on — no scanning of cookies, passwords, or history. The recognised-sites list is fetched from petals.blog, so it grows without needing a new install.

  • Self-import now supports Snapchat — open your own public Snapchat profile and click “Import to Petals” (best-effort; much of Snapchat is ephemeral).

  • Self-import now supports LinkedIn — open your own LinkedIn profile and click “Import to Petals” to bring your posts over (LinkedIn has no public feed, so this is the only way).

  • Import your own profile from sites that block servers or have no public feed — Instagram, Threads, GitHub, Steam, OnlyFans. Open your profile while logged in and click “Import to Petals”; because it reads your own page, the connected account is marked verified.
  • Paste your Petals account token into the extension options (from Settings → Connections → Browser extension) to enable importing.

  • Capture WordPress posts (and their comment threads) with the toolbar button — no new permissions.
  • Sharing a Facebook or Instagram post now also captures the visible comments: each commenter's name links to their profile on the source site, with their avatar.
